Heat Barrier Systems, Inc. sells a product called Polaralum. Polaralum is a roofing underlayment that tremendously increases energy efficiency and saves money when installed under shingles in a roofing assembly.

Polaralum is a thermal barrier, not a radiant barrier, contrary to the statements of some of our competitors. Polaralum has been tested by Factory Mutual, Intertek Testing, and is ICC-approved as an alternative to ASTM D226 15# and 30# felt. Polaralum is code-compliant with IBC and IRC. Some websites say “don’t use Polaralum under shingles or metal,” or that Polaralum might burn the back of shingles. These are false statements and we are more than happy to provide documentation and test results to anyone who requests them. Polaralum is a thermal barrier…period, and it works!!
