Letter from Bob

Old school roofers have a standard method of work ethics brought forth from many years of advice and training from Dad, Grandpa and others in the trade.

I, myself, have experienced this knowledge from no less than 15 old time roofers who have brought their roofing knowledge to our table to develop this product.

Asphalt products were all we have ever known.  Our fathers installed it and we used it with every application regardless.  Felt was the answer.  We watched roofs fail and completely fall apart after years of numerous repairs, knowing that the main problem was the heat and the product being black.

Polaralum, which is solid white and aluminum, is the answer.  Roofers, take note.  White reflects the sun and aluminum reflects the sun's energy.  By putting both together you are stopping 97% of the heat transfer.

The material of Polaralum is a polyester needle pointed material, with thousands of tiny holes.  Yet it is able to withstand tearing and twisting.  Polaralum is slip and skid resistant, easier to handle than felt and uses less caps and nails.

I understand your frustrations about changes.  I have been roofing for over 40 years myself and change is hard to accept.

As a roofing contractor and an actual applicator of both hot tar and shingles, I have the arms, face and back burns from the reflective damage of the sun's heat.  I have had to have numerous cancer spots removed as a result of being a young roofer working without a shirt, letting the sun's energy burn up my skin.

Gentlemen and ladies, anyone who calls themselves a roofer, applicator, mechanic, installer, etc. needs to realize that black is out of date.  We all, myself included have always trusted what our superiors have told us or shown us about laying up a roof.

Roofers, or whatever we call ourselves in our industry these days, need to realize that the new application of reflective materials available in today's market will not only help us, but better our industry.  Not only does the roofer benefit from the installation of Polaralum, the home owner does as well.

Try the product and see for yourself all the benefits it will yield.
